Kansas State quarterback Michael Bishop sent a signed contract to Hula Bowl officials yesterday to play in the 1999 college all-star game on Maui.

He joined an already solid list of players that includes University of Texas running back Ricky Williams, who is the leading contender to win the Heisman Trophy and the Doak Walker Award.

Hula Bowl officials also signed running back Jerry Azuma of New Hampshire, who is the Division I-AA player of the year. Central Florida quarterback Daunte Culpepper also has verbally agreed to play in the game.

"The field just keeps getting better and better," Hula Bowl chief executive officer Lenny Klompus said yesterday. "We almost have the entire team in place."
