Work was under way this week to remove most of the Norfolk
pine trees on the road leading to the temple of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Halelaa Street in Laie.
Trees along the road, adjacent to Laie Elementary School,
were inspected after a 70-foot tree fell across the road last
week and termite damage was discovered. Below, Sione
