Japanese police officers Sgt. Hideo Nakashima and Akihiro Tohi
are greeted by Honolulu police at a press conference at police
headquarters yesterday. Nakashima, 30, investigates crimes
committed by foreigners in Japan, and Tohi, 31, investigates
white-collar crimes. The two officers are in Hawaii on an
exchange program from Hiroshima, Japan, for three weeks
to study the Honolulu Police Department operations, the
criminal justice system of the United States and Hawaii,
and the culture of the islands. Two HPD District 6 officers,

Hiroshima at the end of November as part
