New auto dealership
owner revvin' to go

Jack Jackson has acquired the dealership of Mike Salta Pontiac-Isuzu Lincoln Mercury at 2945 Nimitz Highway and is optimistic about the economy. A grand opening is being planned for this month.

"I have high expectations for sales based on my belief in the economic future of Hawaii," Jackson said.

He bought the dealership after Mike Salta decided to retire.

Although plans are not final yet, Jackson is looking to expand the dealership in 1999 with added franchises on site and a second service shift. The dealership will continue to sell the Lincoln Mercury, Pontiac and Isuzu lines. Jackson has nearly 30 years of experience in the automobile business in Hawaii and most recently was chief operating officer of The Tony Group of automotive dealers. He came to Hawaii in 1967 as a technician for the Air Force after serving in Germany and on the mainland.
