Hoping cleaning business
is 'maid' to order

Colin T. Miyabara, who was president of Honolulu Book Shops for more than 19 years, has started a new residential cleaning venture.

He is owner of the Hawaii franchise for Maid Brigade, which has five employees. There are more than 200 independently owned Maid Brigade franchises in the United States.

"Maid Brigade is the time-management solution for thousands of busy families," Miyabara said.

"More and more people are realizing they cannot continue to 'do it all' if they wish to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle."

Miyabara opened Maid Brigade in July, a month before the owner of Honolulu Book Shops closed its last outlet.

"I decided on franchises, and then I thought that residential cleaning had good potential," he said.
