Matt Berge is responsible for seven restaurants, room service, three bars, the culinary department, the Health Club and food service at the recreation and swimming pool areas of The Westin Maui resort. He deals with 15 managers and 160 employees. Overseeing food service
at Westin Maui"We're going to be aggressively making changes in our food service," Berge said. "We will be relocating one of the restaurants (next year) on the property to maximize the potential of all of our outlets."
He has 13 years in the hotel business and most recently was director of rooms at The Westin Maui. Berge first joined Westin in 1985 as a reservations agent intern at The Westin Hotel, Copley Place, in Boston. He moved to The Westin Hotel in Seattle in 1987 before coming to The Westin Maui in 1994 as front-office manager. He earned a bachelor's in hotel and restaurant administration from Washington State University.
