at Hanohano RoomPEOPLE who miss dancing to Kit Samson and his Sound Advice in the old Kahala Hilton's Maile Lounge may want to kick up their heels or dance cheek-to-cheek to Stardust in the Sheraton Waikiki's 30th floor Hanohano Room. The Hanohano offers fine dining as well as dancing. Dancers do not have to dine. Stardust --Brian Robertshaw on piano, guitarist John Valentine and vocalist Ladyanne Braun -- play a variety of music that will please most people who want to trip the light fantastic. Brian and John also sing, sometimes soloing or joining Ladyanne. The lady has great pipes and is heavy into the Celine Dion songbook. Swing tunes, top 40, rock, ballads and a bit of Hawaiian are offered by the trio. "We'll play anything the crowd wants," Robertshaw says. And the view from the 30th floor is fantastic ...
Artist honors rock great
AFTER Bo Diddley wound up his two-hour nonstop show at Four Seasons Wailea last weekend, the resorts P.R. chief Yvonne Landavazo took neo-pop artist Davo backstage to meet the 70-year-old rock legend. Davo gave Diddley a collage of the entertainer he'd created. Diddley performed at the annual Terry Fox Cancer Research Benefit held at Four Seasons Resorts on Maui and the Big Isle. Over $90,000 was raised for cancer research in the state ...BROOK LEE appears with Jean-Marie Josselin on his cooking show, "A Taste of Hawaii," today at 5:30 p.m. and tomorrow at 5:30 a.m. on KGMB-TV. Kapena plays music on the show. Brook attended a reception tossed by Jean-Marie and the show's producer, Shirley David, at Josselin's A Pacific Cafe Sunday. Judging from film clips of the show, Jean-Marie could give comedy a try if he tires of cooking. Guitarist-singers Russell Correia and Howard Villa played Hawaiian music at the reception ...

The Halekulani's La Mer is second and Hoku's at the Kahala Mandarin is third. Rounding out the Top 10 are: Terrace Dining Room at Koele, Alan Wong's, Roy's on Oahu, the Hilton Village's Bali, Roy's Kahana, Ihilani at Manele Bay and David Paul's Lahaina Grill. The Formal Dining Room was also tops for food, service, ambience and presentation. La Mer was tops for wine list and romance.
