Monika K. Hellwig, author of more than a dozen books bringing a contemporary light to traditional theological topics, will be this year's speaker in the annual Mackey Marianist Lectures. Author to hold
Chaminade lectureHer lecture on "Christian Discipleship for Our Times" will be at 4 p.m. Oct. 25 at Chaminade University's Eiben Hall. It is free and open to the public.
Hellwig is the executive director of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities. She taught at Georgetown University where she was the Landegger Professor of Theology.
Her books include "Jesus the Compassion of God" and "Understanding Catholicism."
The lecture series, a memorial to Chaminade founding president Rev. Robert Mackey, is sponsored by the university, the Marianist Center of Hawaii and St. Louis School.
