


Right now in the deep blue waters off the Big Island University of Hawaii, scientists are preparing to explore the underwater beginings of Hawaii's most active volcano. Catch deep-sea
view of KilaueaYou can follow along the voyage to Puna Ridge as the scientists drop remote sensing equipment and cameras down Kilauea's east flank at a depth of 5,400 meters.
The volcano has been erupting since January 1983, but in the ocean, eruptions have built a ridge 75 kilometers from shore, which is now the focus of a specif expedition.
