Celebrate tradition

Immerse yourself in Chinese culture 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at "Filial Piety: A Chinese Cultural Tradition" at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. Presented by the Associated Chinese University Women, the afternoon will be devoted to cultural displays and demonstrations, hands-on activities, Chinese folk and classical music, and dance.

Among the presentations are demonstrations of the games tin gao and mah jong, seal carving, calligraphy, the preparation of traditional dishes, starting a water garden, acupuncture, palmistry, astrology, tai chi, watercolor painting and paper cutting.

Admission is a $1 donation to the art academy.
