OGDEN, Utah -- The Hawaii women's soccer team defended much better yesterday -- until UH goalkeeper Demarre Sanchez found herself surrounded by Weber State players in overtime. Wahine winless
on road tripWildcat forward Lisa Anthony fired a long shot from the left side -- with Weber State players on each side of the goal. Sanchez got a hand on the ball, but it glanced in the goal.
Anthony's score at 98:30 lifted Weber State (11-2) to a 1-0 overtime victory and left the Wahine (7-5) winless on their last road trip of the regular season.
Just moments earlier, UH's Tricia Nishikawa broke free for a one-on-one opportunity, but Weber State goalkeeper Meagan Thunell made the save.
The Wahine play two Western Athletic Conference matches this weekend: vs. San Diego State Friday and Nevada-Las Vegas Sunday. Both matches are at 7 p.m. at Ala Wai Field.
