PROVO, Utah -- Was the match as bad as the final score indicated?

"Yes, it was," said Hawaii Wahine head soccer coach Pinsoom Tenzing.

"We were not ready to go and never got untracked. We knew what we should have done and we didn't do it. We missed too many assignments."

Shauna Rohbock scored three goals to pace Brigham Young to a 7-0 victory in the Western Athletic Conference Pacific Division opener for Hawaii last night.

Rohbock is a national team-caliber player, according to Tenzing.

"We decided not to give her any room. We were going to triple team her," Tenzing said. "But she's much too fast and we gave her much, much, too much room. All too often she only had one defender on her. When you do things like that, you pay for it."

It's the most lopsided defeat since BYU blanked UH by the same score here in 1996.

The Cougars (10-2 overall, 2-0 WAC) outshot the Wahine (7-3, 0-1), 27-6, forced seven corner kicks to none for UH and limited the Wahine to two shots on goal each half.

"It may be emotionally traumatic for the younger ones who have not been shellacked like this before in their life," said Tenzing. "Theoretically you can solve problems, but I'm at a loss right now about what to do on the road."

Hawaii has one day to regroup before tomorrow's match with Utah, a 2-1 overtime loser to BYU Thursday.
