A symposium on the ballot questions concerning the state Constitution will be presented Thursday by the Hawaii Association of International Buddhists. Marriage ballot to be
discussed at symposiumThe panel, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Honpa Hongwanji Betsuin social hall at 1727 Pali Highway, is open to the public.
The proposed constitutional amendment that would give the Legislature power to limit marriage to a union between a man and a woman will be discussed, as well as a question about whether a constitutional convention should be convened to consider other amendments.
Speakers will include the Rev. Yoshiaki Fujitani, retired Honpa Hongwanji bishop; attorney Dan Foley; Kyle Kajihiro of the American Friends Service Committee; and a representative of Save Traditional Marriage organization. Alfred Bloom, president of the Buddhist association, will be moderator.

Eckankar in Hawaii, 1056 12th Ave., Room 201: Free seminar titled "Discover Spiritual Exercises for Wisdom, Freedom and Love" will be held 7-9:30 p.m. today at the Ala Wai Clubhouse.
