Gearing up for the
future at PixiNet

Pacific Information Exchange Inc. (PixiNet) has named Benny S. Mateo to deal with new technology for the company.

"Telecommunications and computer industries are in the midst of major technical changes, which will have far-reaching repercussions on the way people live and conduct business," Mateo said. "My role at PixiNet is to take the technical lead in implementing these changes."

One of the changes, asymmetrical digital subscriber line (ADSL), gets faster connections to the Internet, Mateo said. PixiNet began providing Internet access services in 1994.

Mateo has 14 years in communications and most recently was network manager for GTE Mobilnet. He has worked at various positions, including manager of engineering operations and internal communications, at GTE Mobilnet and GTE Hawaiian Tel.
