Star-BulletinWhile many of his contemporaries in Jamaica were struggling to maintain their careers amid the growing digital rhythm craze that started in the mid-'80s, Cliff collaborated with Elvis Costello and Kool & the Gang's horn section, and toured with Stevie Winwood, to bring his music to a wider audience.
By 1988, his quest for expression took him to the Congo and Zaire, where he established more cross-cultural links. In 1991, he journeyed to South America to work with area musicians, embracing elements of samba and bossa nova.
His travels and spiritual search are reflected in his latest album, "Journey of a Lifetime."
