
Mission Houses Museum invites visitors to step back in time on Kama'aina Day, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at 553 S. King St. Travel to time of
missionariesCostumed guides will provide insights into the lives of the Christian missionaries who came to Hawaii in the 1800s. There will be tours of the historic mission buildings, demonstrations of an early printing press, period games to play and storytelling.

Before "The Lion King" -- the Broadway show adapted from the Disney film -- there was Garth Fagan, choreographer and driving force for the Garth Fagan Dance Company. The troupe performs at 8 p.m. today through Saturday at Leeward Community College Theatre. A dancing sorcerer
Fagan is a master of mixing varied dance styles -- jazz, traditional African and Caribbean, ballet and modern -- with music in unexpected ways. The Washington Post describes his work as "artistic sorcery."
Tickets for the show are $20 to $25. Each performance will be followed by a "meet the artists" question-and-answer session in which the sorcerer may reveal some of his secrets. Call 455-0385.
