


The Hawaii women's volleyball team remained at No. 10 in the latest USA Today/AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. Wahine still ranked 10th
The Wahine (11-1) take two winning streaks with them on their first road trip of the season: 52 straight regular-season conference matches and 33 consecutive regular-season WAC victories. Hawaii is at Utah Friday and No. 5 Brigham Young Saturday.
Long Beach State supplanted Penn State as the top-ranked team this week. The 49ers received few first-place votes than the Nittany Lions (26-34) but accumulated 1,465 points to the Lions' 1,464.
RAINBOWS 16TH: The Hawaii Rainbows golf team finished 16th at the Northwest Classic in Corvallis, Ore., yesterday.
The UH men had a three-day score of 301-297-300--898 (34 over par). UCLA won the team title with an 8-under 856.
Russ Nygard had Hawaii's top score, tied for 44th after finishing with a 73 for a 6-over 222.
Bret Parker was tied for 54th at 72--223; Jarrod Mizusawa was tied for 65th at 78--226; Louis Mexia was 80th at 77--229, and Van Wright was tied for 86th at 80--234.
PRO GOLF TOUR: Pro Tour Hawaii, the new mini-tour for local professional golfers, will host two events on Oahu in October.

DILLINGHAM TENNIS: Defending men's champion Erik Sandblom and women's titlist Ei Oyama are seeded No. 1 for the 46th annual Dillingham Tennis Championships, to be played Saturday through Monday at the Punahou courts.
The tournament, with $5,000 in prize money, is the final stop on the Hawaii Grand Prix circuit. Admission is free.
