Michael Service, 15, proudly brought his peach-face lovebird, Peaches,
to be blessed yesterday by Peter Courtney at Saint Andrew's Cathedral.
The morning service honored pets with "special prayers for God's Creation"
and "thanksgiving for our four-footed, finny or feathered friends" on the
occasion of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of all creatures.
