


Dick McClean of Kapalua, Maui, was tied for second place after yesterday's second round of the PGA of America Senior Club Pro Championship at West Palm Beach, Fla. McClean second
in Sr. Club ProMcClean shot a 69 and was at 2-under-par 142 after 36 holes, one stroke behind Denny Lyons of Lake Mary, Fla.
McClean is tied with Gary Groh, the 1975 Hawaiian Open winner now playing out of Lake Bluff, Ill.
Rodney Acia, of the Hilo Municipal course on the Big Island, was tied for 100th. He shot a 75 yesterday and was at 14-over 158.
BYUH TOPS CHAMINADE: The NCAA Division II top-ranked Brigham Young University-Hawaii women's volleyball team needed four sets to turn back Chaminade, 15-10, 13-15, 15-8, 15-7, last night at Laie.
Arlete Silva had 23 kills for the Seasiders, who improved to 10-0. Joan Lilio had 17 kills for the Silverswords, 7-5.
HAWAII PACIFIC WINS: Hai Yan Wang had 15 kills and hit .625 to lead the Hawaii Pacific women's volleyball team over UH-Hilo, 15-7, 15-8, 15-3, in a PacWest conference game at St. Andrew's Priory.
The Sea Warriors also had 12 kills from Debbie Sant'Anna in improving to 11-1 overall and 5-1 in the conference. They have won their last five conference matches in straight sets.
UH-Hilo is 7-5 and 2-1.
QB CLUB: Guest speakers Monday at the weekly luncheon of the Honolulu Quarterback Club are KCCN sportscaster Bobby Curran, the radio voice of the Rainbows; Iolani football coach Wendell Look, and Rainbow football coach Fred vonAppen.
