Star-BulletinThe University of Hawaii Board of Regents is expected to approve a new contract for Wahine head basketball coach Vince Goo at its meeting in Hilo today.
Goo, who has one year left on his present contract, has coached the Wahine for 11 years, compiling a 224-97 record for a .700 winning percentage.
Goo declined to comment on the possibility of a new contract until an official announcement is made by the athletic department.
"I was told not to discuss anything," he said.
During his tenure, the Wahine have won two Big West Conference regular-season championships, one Western Athletic Conference Pacific Division title and made five NCAA Tournament appearances.
In 1992, the Wahine were runner-up to Georgia Tech in the National Women's Invitation Tournament.
His teams have won 20 or more games in a season eight times, including six of the last seven seasons. Five Wahine teams have topped the 25-victory mark.
All 29 of his players who completed their playing eligibility at UH have graduated.
