Evening for falsetto fans

Ten amateur singers vie for cash, prizes and a Hula Records recording contract in the annual Hawaiian Falsetto Contest taking place 7 p.m. Saturday at Hawaii Theatre.

Judges for the Aloha Festivals contest are Willie K, Amy Anai'ali'i Gilliom, Tony Conjugacion, Darren Benitez, Flip McDermott and Kit Ebersbach. Willie K, Gilliom, Benitez and 1996 contest winner Kala'i Stern will also entertain.

Tickets for the event are $15 and $20, plus a $1 theater restoration fee. Tickets may be purchased at the theater box office, 528-0506, or at Connection outlets.
