HPU to host
7 Division I teams
in hoops tourney

Hawaii Pacific University has finalized plans to host a basketball tournament, featuring seven NCAA Division I programs Nov. 27-29 at Blaisdell Arena, the school said today.
First-round matchups are as follows: HPU vs. Iona, Baylor vs. Virginia Commonwealth, Southern Mississippi vs. Hofstra and Illinois State vs. Missouri-Kansas City.
"Hosting this tournament will certainly increase our visibility in Hawaii and nationally, and give our fans the opportunity to see how we stack up against some of the premiere programs in college basketball," HPU coach Tony Sellitto said in a release.
