While there may be some concern about high technology resulting in high cost, in this time of cost containment, we feel that high quality care will result in cost-effective care."
He has been in private practice since 1980 as an internist and pulmonologist. For the past three years, Sugihara has been assistant chief of staff at Kuakini. He also was a clinical assistant professor of medicine for the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii since 1981. Sugihara earned his medical degree from Tufts University Medical School in Boston.
