There are two Army government workers going clothes shopping two to three hours during work hours. It's very unfair and a waste of taxpayer's money. Is there a government hot line I can call? Complaints about
Army abuses can

I need help. My prescription for contact lenses was with Optical Dispensers, and the company has closed. How can I get my prescription refilled?

The woman answering the phone also said if you had a prescription on file that you could get a copy and have it filled elsewhere.
I was a customer of Jimmy's Travel, which closed and left me without my tickets. Now I am confused as to what is going on.
Customers of the now-defunct Jimmy's Travel must file proofs of their claim with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and a separate claim with Hawaii National Bank. The purpose of customers filing the proofs of claim in Bankruptcy Court is to protect their standing as creditors of Jimmy's Travel. The deadline is Dec. 7. The address for such claims is the United States Bankruptcy Court, 1132 Bishop St. Suite 250-L, Honolulu 96813.
The purpose of mailing a claim to Hawaii National Bank is to obtain reimbursement for the canceled charter flights through the $200,000 letter of credit held by the bank. Claims must be received by Hawaii National Bank no later than 60 days after the intended date of arrival of your return flight to Hawaii. Claims should be sent to Jimmy's Travel Inc. Claims, c/o Hawaii National Bank, P.O. Box 4178, Honolulu 96812.
The procedure under which the $200,000 will be made available to Jimmy's Travel's customers is still being discussed by Hawaii National Bank, the federal Department of Transportation and the state Regulated Industries Complaints Office.
Some claims may have been returned because of a misunderstanding. Those should be refiled with Hawaii National Bank.
For more information, call the state Regulated Industries Complaint Office at 587-3222, then press "2."

To the staff and patrons of California Pizza Kitchen, Pearlridge, for their help when my mother suddenly fainted on July 14. Their quickness in calling the ambulance and their concern were a great comfort to me during this stressful period. An extra mahalo to Mark Spencer for his compassion for my mother. It is reassuring to know that the aloha spirit still lives on in Hawaii. - Patti Isaacs
To jaywalking scofflaws. I was departing the Hale Koa Hotel at 6:13 p.m. July 31 on a green light. Approximately 25 people were jaywalking. I stopped for the jaywalkers. I do not honk the horn. I still had the green light as they ignored my right of way. Each of you deserved a jaywalking ticket! Auwe
To a careless older man and his wife in the parking lot of Foodland Market City on Aug. 3. Just as I pulled out of my stall and straightened my car, his car pulled out across from me and broadsided mine. He looked at my car and drove off! That's hit-and-run, buddy. If you can't look in your rearview mirror before pulling out, get a horse. Auwe
