Selling visitors on
the Royal Lahaina Hotel

James N. Naylor will be marketing the 592-room Royal Lahaina Hotel to group, meeting, incentive and leisure travelers.

Naylor, who arrived in May from California, took the job after getting a call in March from executives at Hawaiian Hotel & Resorts, owner and manager of the Royal Lahaina. It was his first trip to Hawaii. "I came here without knowing much, but years ago I heard of the Royal Lahaina as the place to stay (on Maui)," Naylor said.

The hotel has a 12-story central tower in the Hawaii monarch style and one- and two-story cottages in the plantation style.

Naylor has 15 years experience in the hospitality industry and recently was resident manager of Tri Palm Estates in Thousands Palms, Calif. He also held sales and management positions at Erawan Garden Resort in Indian Wells, Calif., and was special event coordinator for the Long Beach, Calif., convention center.
