Hoping to put his
print on Hilo Hattie

Shunsuke Katsuki will use his knowledge of the Asian market to help sales for Hilo Hattie, The Store of Hawaii.

Hilo Hattie is a large retailer of Hawaiian fashions, gifts and souvenirs. The company produces more than 750,000 garments a year. Some of the most popular are the new Hawaiian prints for shirts, dresses and other garments.

"The prints are different from the ones we have known in the past," Katsuki said.

He sees Hilo Hattie having universal appeal. "This is the store where the Eastern traveler can meet with the Western traveler," Katsuki said.

He has more than 22 years of experience with Duty Free Shoppers Ltd. in Hawaii and California, and recently was vice president, travel industry relations and marketing for DFS's Hawaii division. Katsuki earned a bachelor's in international business from the University of San Francisco.
