arrests on Oahu

Star-BulletinFive people are in federal custody and being held without bail for allegedly conspiring to distribute 51/2 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.
Charged in a criminal complaint filed Sunday are Victor S. Delgado, Ajmal J. Sulaimankhil, James Oral Sheldon III, Cornelio D. Bumanglag Jr. and Janel Salvador Ramos.
The Pasadena, Calif., Police Department alerted Hawaii officials July 30 that a parcel containing the crystal meth was being shipped to Hawaii. The parcel, intended for a Palala Street residence in Kapolei, was intercepted Friday by Drug Enforcement Administration officials and police at Honolulu Airport.
According to a court affidavit, the parcel was delivered to 91-1033 Palala St. at 5:20 p.m. July 31. Ten minutes later, Bumanglag, Ramos and a juvenile left the home with the parcel and drove toward Waipahu.
Agents noted the car was being driven aimlessly and making unnecessary stops and turns before stopping at a Kahualena Street home.
Fifteen minutes later, the trio got back into the car and drove around Waipahu for about 15 minutes before taking the H-1 freeway toward town, eventually taking the Aloha Stadium exit.
Police stopped the car at about 7 p.m. on Salt Lake Boulevard and arrested the trio, according to the affidavit.
When advised that they were being arrested for federal narcotics violations, Ramos blurted out that she was "just delivering the ice to Aliamanu Park to a guy in a black Grand National," a factory-customized Buick, the affidavit says.
Bumanglag allegedly admitted he knew the parcel contained "batu" and that he was picking up the parcel for a friend, James Sheldon, who was waiting at Ramos' grandmother's home in Foster Village.
Bumanglag agreed to cooperate with officials and arranged to meet with Sheldon at the nearby K-Mart parking lot, the affidavit says.
It says Sheldon, Sulaimankhil and Delgado were arrested around 10:15 p.m. when they arrived to pick up the parcel.
