Helping out with construction at the Children's Discovery Center
in Kakaako, Junior Galeng moves a piece of cut dry wall. The
carpenters union is donating three weeks of labor to prepare the
space for exhibits shipped from the mainland. The center will hold
a sneak preview Oct. 4 as part of "Children and Youth Day,"
co-sponsored by the state Department of Education, according to
Loretta Yajima, center president. It will officially open in November.
