Michael Acebedo joins Booklines Hawaii as sales manager to help the company expand its distribution business into new products such as music, souvenir items, postcards, photo albums and clothing. Helping Booklines
expand product line"We are branching into a tourist line and we're looking for other items (to distribute)," Acebedo said.
Booklines is a $10 million-a-year company with 13 sales representives, and is a large distributor of Hawaiiana books.
Acebedo has 35 years in sales and recently was directory advertising representative with GTE Directories Corp., where he was responsible for advertising sales of directory phone books. He also worked at Espresso Honolulu Products Co., Amfac Distribution Group Co., Island Beverage Co. and Eagle Distributors Inc. Acebedo also managed a store at King's Alley in Waikiki. He came to Hawaii in 1975.
Acebedo is married to singer Shari Lynn.
