Seki is ousted
by Australian

Honolulu golfer Jim Seki Jr. was beaten by Aaron Baddeley of Australia, 3 and 2, yesterday in the second round of the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Lake Forest, Ill.

In the first round of the match-play tournament, Seki defeated Brandon Askew of Fargo, N.D., 3 and 1.

MOVERS EDGED: Brian Oxley scored the game-winning run on an error in the top of the 10th inning as the Mat-Su Miners edged the Hawaii Island Movers, 2-1, in an Alaska League summer baseball game last night at Rainbow Stadium.

KANEOHE WINS LL SENIORS TITLE: Paul Collins pitched a six-hitter and Jason Taniguchi had two doubles and two RBIs, leading Kaneohe past Pearl City, 8-1, in the State Little League Seniors (ages 14-15) championship game yesterday at Castle High School field.

Kaneohe will play Alaska on Aug. 1 in division tournament play at Boise, Idaho.

JOBE LOSES: At Rockville, Md., yesterday Ikaika Jobe of Aina Haina lost to Andrew Rosenfeld of California, 6-2, 6-3, in the round of 16 of the U.S. Clay Court tennis nationals.

Jobe, who upset top-seeded Alistair Jenkins on Wednesday, will play in the consolation round today against Amer Delic of Florida.

TOLOUMU RAMS' VOLLEYBALL COACH: Lorch Toloumu has been named the new boys' volleyball coach at Radford High, according to acting athletic director Etuali Suafoa.

Toloumu is a 1993 Radford graduate, where he played on the Rams' first boys volleyball team.

The former Foothills College (San Jose, Calif.) player is an educational assistant at Pearl Harbor.
