Mary Ann Boyer is responsible for all production-related operations at the Hilo plant of the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corp. This includes engineering, quality assurance and distribution functions.

"We want to expand a little more in international business," Boyer said.

She has 19 years of technical manufacturing experience while working in Minneapolis and Canada for Pillsbury/Grand Metropolitan Corp. and International Multi Foods Corp.

Boyer earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry/biology from Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. and master's degrees in business administration and international management from St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minn.

She has volunteered for the Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement community efforts and is a member of the National Association of Female Executives.
