Site aims to help kids
stay drug-free

To talk to your kids about drugs, you may first have to get them to show you how to use the Internet.

Then together you can visit http://www.planet-hawaii.com/drugfreehawaii, set up by the nonprofit Coalition for a Drug Free Hawaii.

There's information for youths, parents, teachers and health care professionals.

Particularly interesting for youngsters are the Youth Helping Youth Web pages with a listing of teen-agers from local high schools.

For parents there are sources of information about some of the drugs now used in Hawaii, including "ice," marijuana and tobacco.

"Home on the Web" is a weekly Friday feature of the Star-Bulletin.
