
The Makaha Community will be dedicating Saturday's Ho'olaule'a to surfer/activist Rell Sunn and musician Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Makaha gathering pays
homage to Rell and IzThe ho'olaule'a will be held from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. with dedication ceremonies at 12:45 p.m. for Rell and 3 p.m. for Iz. Lei and ho'okupu are welcome. Former Makaha Sons of Niihau member Mel Amina will share stories of the "good ole days" and show how Rell and Iz have made Hawaii a better place.
There also will be entertainment by the Waianae High School Haka Club, Vaihi, One Heart, Ilona Irvine, Kulia, Opihi Pickers, Tenderoni, Evolutionary Dance Troop, Simplisity, Brother Norm Thompson and Kawika Kahiapo.
Several local artisans and Hawaiian cultural practitioners will also set up displays and exhibits.

Lisa Matsumoto returns as Da Wicked Queen in the revival of her pidgin comedy presenting a local-style retelling of traditional fairy tales, "Happily Eva Afta."
