Hawaii's Kitchen


DeLima’s dishes quick
and easy to prepare

These are the recipes for dishes prepared by Frank DeLima on "Hawaii's Kitchen" this week. The program airs at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday and is rebroadcast at the same time the following Saturday on KHON/FOX2.

Tapa

Tuna DeLima

1 small onion, chopped
1 can tuna
1 teaspoon artificial sweetener or sugar
Shoyu
Water

Brown onion, add tuna. Fill empty tuna can half with shoyu, half with water and add to pan.

Sprinkle in sweetener or sugar and cook until mixture is dry.

Tapa

DeLima's bachelor stew

1 small onion, chopped
1 pound hamburger
1 small package mixed frozen vegetables
1 can kidney beans
1 can tomato sauce
Salt & pepper to taste

Brown onions with hamburger then add remaining ingredients.

Simmer for 10 minutes.

Tapa

String bean Okinawa/DeLima

1/2 pound bacon
2-3 cups string beans
1 small package dried shrimp (opae)
1 small package SS Saimin dashi

Brown bacon, add shrimp, beans and seasoning, then simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Tapa

Fried saimin ala DeLima

1 small onion
Handful chopped green onions
1/2 can Spam (chopped)
1/2 pound bacon
1 fish cake ball or package (sliced)
2 packages dried instant saimin
Shoyu & sugar to taste

In frying pan brown onions, Spam & bacon. Add fish cake.

In separate pot boil saimin with the dashi base.

Remove noodles and add to frying pan and mix thoroughly. Season to taste.
