Ho next takes on California's Rob Machado, who beat Brazilian Armando Daltro with the highest score of the day, 25.75.
In round one action, Hawaii's Shawn Sutton, and Andy Irons lost to Australia's Luke Egan. Hawaii's Kalani Robb lost to Australia's Mark Occhilupo.
JONES WINS: Wyatt Jones won the 20th annual Hui O Hee Nalu Paddleboard Race Saturday, covering the 3.5-mile course from Sunset Beach to Waimea Bay in 28 minutes, 52 seconds.
Edmund Pestana was second, in 29:36.
