


Nuuanu Reservoir No. 4 will open for weekend channel catfish angling on Saturday, Aug. 8. Fishing will continue on consecutive Saturdays and Sundays until all anglers with assigned fishing times have been accommodated. Reservoir will open for
August weekend fishingAnyone wishing to fish can do so by obtaining a valid State of Hawaii Freshwater Game Fishing License and Entry Fishing Card.
Entry cards will indicate the date and time that anglers may enter the reservoir.
Applications for Entry Fishing Cards may be obtained at the Department of Land and Natural Resources Visitor Center Permit Counter at 1151 Punchbowl Street, Room 130, or from various licensing agents around the state.
The deadline for submitting applications to DLNR is 4 p.m., Friday, July 24.

HO WON'T SIGN: Randon Ho said last night that he will not sign a professional contract with the Cleveland Indians.
The University of Hawaii left-hander was selected in the 35th round (1,053rd overall) by Cleveland in the 1998 major league baseball amateur free-agent draft.
"I've got two more years of school left and I'm going to try and take advantage of that," said Ho, a sociology major.
The Indians did offer to pay for the rest of his schooling.
DAYDREAMER SAILS AHEAD: Daydreamer, a 40-foot sloop out of San Francisco skippered by Charles Richard, led the fleet and Class A yesterday in the West Marine Pacific Cup yacht race from San Francisco Bay to Kaneohe Bay.
Transaction was the Class B leader and Millennium Falcon led Class C.
Two Class C boats from Hawaii, Gingerbread Man and Perestroika, were ninth and 10th, respectively.
Leading the two doublehanded divisions were Low Profile and Mystic.
RENEGADE LEADS FLEET: Renegade was the leader in Class A and the overall fleet after the opening day of the Victoria, British Columbia-to-Maui yacht race.
Midnight Special was second in both categories after the end of Tuesday's reporting period.
COLIN SIXTH IN KAYAK RACES: Kathy Colin of Kailua finished sixth in the K-1W 500-meter final and teamed with Julia Sorzano of Chula Vista, Calif., for another sixth-place showing in the K-2 200-meter event at the XVII International Regatta for kayakers in Duisberg, Germany, last weekend.
