ISLAND DIGEST

The Hawaii Community Foundation is looking for community groups in need of funding for their special projects.

The foundation's Neighborhood Grants Program has $50,000 in grants for qualified Oahu groups.

At least half the group's members must live in the community where the projects are planned.

The foundation targets Oahu projects, primarily in low-income areas, that would cost between $3,000 and $5,000 and take no longer than one year to complete.

A pre-application meeting will be held Wednesday. For information, or to get an application, call Dionne Kaiwi at 566-5536.

Applications must be submitted by Aug. 21.
