Seeing potential in Kahala

Bernard Agache has taken over as general manager of the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel. He is a 20-year veteran of Westin Hotels who speaks English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

"My aim is to realize the full potential of the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel. It is a tremendous property," Agache said.

He previously was managing director of the Westin Stamford and Westin Plaza in Singapore. The complex has 2,100 rooms, 12 restaurants and a convention center.

Agache also has worked as general manager of the Westin Bonaventure in Montreal; the Westin Hotel, Toronto; the Westin Maui, Hawaii; the Century Plaza Hotel and Tower in Los Angeles and the Westin Singapore.

He is a graduate of the Hotel Management School in Toulouse, France who also holds diplomas in business and hotel management from Michigan State University.
