Star-BulletinThe University of Hawai'i at Manoa Summer Session Hawai'i Guitar Festival is a pretty long title for guys pulling strings, but they've been doing it for six years now. As usual, the event will feature a variety of concerts and workshops, which are scheduled throughout June.
Events include:
Workshop 1 to 4 p.m. June 3 in Room No. 108, UHM Music Building, with classical guitarist William Kanengiser of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet; concepts, techniques and exercises. Admission is $30. Information: 956-7221.
Concert 8 p.m. June 6 in Orvis Auditorium, with the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet instrumental ensemble featuring John Dearman, William Kanengiser, Scott Tennant and Andrew York. Guitar Player magazine calls the LAGQ "One of the finest guitar quartets in the world." Admission is $15; $12 students and seniors. Information: 956-6824.
