Allied to honor arts education

Tony Conjugacion and Keali'i Reichel will be among the performers featured during The Hawai'i Alliance for Arts Education "Alliance Awards" presentation which begins 7:30 p.m. June 6 at Hawai'i Theatre Center.

Also featured will be the Palolo Elementary Student Theatre performing an original production entitled "Winds of Palolo," House of I Hula Academy, the Mid Pacific School of the Arts Dance Company, the All Star High School Jazz Band and opera singer Quinn Kamakanalani Kelsey.

The annual awards are presented to recognize arts education programs and teacher and student excellence. Agnes Kalanihookaha Cope will receive the 1998 Alfred Preis Award for her lifetime commitment to arts education.

Tickets for the presentation range from $20-$35 ($10 for HAAE members) and are available at the theatre box office. For ticket information call 528-0506. For more information about the awards, call 942-4708.
