Nancy Evans Tudor of Honolulu has won the 1998 Hawaii accountant advocate award of the year from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

She has headed the Hawaii Certified Public Accountant Society's tax committee, taught classes in taxation and accounting and designed the Hawaii Form N-11 used for most state income-tax returns.

Her company, Nancy Evans Tudor Certified Public Accountant Inc., has employed several accounting students from the University of Hawaii.

"The volunteer work I've done is because I've cared for the community," Tudor said.

She has 19 years of taxation/accountant experience including time at the Internal Revenue Service and the firm of Touche Ross. She opened her own office in 1995.

Tudor earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of North Carolina.
