

The "Nerveless Nocks," a family of daring aerialists, are among the attractions at this year's 50th State Fair, Friday through June 14 in the Aloha Stadium parking lot. Alls fair in the
50th stateThe Nocks, descended from a Swiss circus family, leap from one 80-foot "sway pole" to another, are hurled through the air in a "space wheel" and ride motorcycles on a high wire. The late TV show host Ed Sullivan once called the Nocks "the greatest circus act I've ever seen."
Other attractions at the fair include the "Hollywood Knockouts," a group of women who box and wrestle competitively, and an aquarium featuring live sharks from Florida, plus the usual rides, game and food booths, and entertainment.
The fair is open 6 p.m. to midnight on Fridays (and June 11), and noon to midnight Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day.
Admission is $2.50 from 6 p.m. to midnight, $1.50 noon to 6 p.m., and $1.50 for children 4 to 11 years old. On Pepsi days -- May 31 and June 7 -- admission from noon to 6 p.m. is 50 cents with an empty Pepsi can. On June 14, admission from noon to 6 p.m. is 50 cents with a Fun Factory coupon.
