Yokozuna Akebono pushed out lower-ranked Takatoriki today, leaving both in a 10-way tie for the lead with four days left in the 15-day Summer Grand Sumo Tournament in Tokyo. Akebono win
creates 10-way tieAkebono, or Chad Rowan from Hawaii, used his trademark pushing attack to throw the smaller maegashira off balance before sending him out of the ring, leaving both wrestlers at 8-3.
Musashimaru, or Fiamalu Penitani from Hawaii, is tied for the lead after he lost to Takanonami. Joining them at 8-3 are Wakanohana, Kotonishiki, Dejima, No. 13 maegashira Kyokushuzan, or Mongolian Batbayar Davaa, komusubi (junior champion second class) Akinoshima and yokozuna Takanohana.
