Akebono win
creates 10-way tie

Yokozuna Akebono pushed out lower-ranked Takatoriki today, leaving both in a 10-way tie for the lead with four days left in the 15-day Summer Grand Sumo Tournament in Tokyo.

Akebono, or Chad Rowan from Hawaii, used his trademark pushing attack to throw the smaller maegashira off balance before sending him out of the ring, leaving both wrestlers at 8-3.

Musashimaru, or Fiamalu Penitani from Hawaii, is tied for the lead after he lost to Takanonami. Joining them at 8-3 are Wakanohana, Kotonishiki, Dejima, No. 13 maegashira Kyokushuzan, or Mongolian Batbayar Davaa, komusubi (junior champion second class) Akinoshima and yokozuna Takanohana.
