Unbeaten Karin Ptaszek, Helena Nordwall, Paiao Short and Teresa Stromberg each won two matches in straight sets today as the defending champion Brigham Young-Hawaii women's tennis team took a five-point lead in the NAIA national tournament at Tulsa, Okla.

The BYUH women, who also have three doubles tandems in title contention, ended the second day of competition with 23 points, to 18 for second-place Auburn-Montgomery.

The Seasiders, led by singles winners Toshi Matsui and Wei-Yu Su, stayed in the men's team race with 15 points. They were in a three-way tie for third place. Auburn-Montgomery had the lead with 20.

The Hawaii Pacific men had 12 points, good for a share of eighth place. Second-seeded Erik Sandblom was the only Sea Warrior still alive in the singles draw after two victories yesterday but two HPU doubles teams also were unbeaten.
