Line up for line dancing

Put your boots to scootin' and boogie'n at "Starlight & Sawdust," a paniolo party and auction 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Kualoa Ranch to benefit Parents and Children Together.

The event includes a barbeque, beer and wine, line dancing and country music. There will be a silent auction of such items as an inter-island cruise, a David Lee painting and a 1999 Merrie Monarch Festival package. During the evening, tribute will be paid to retired Honolulu Police Chief Michael Nakamura for his leadership in preventing domestic violence.

Tickets are $75, and are available by calling 847-3285.

Funds raised will help support PACT's programs in such areas as early childhood education, parenting, and the prevention of child and domestic abuse. PACT programs are available on Oahu, Maui and Lanai.
