Grand champion Takanohana, who has been forced out of the last two tournaments with a recurring liver ailment, said today he is ready to make his return to the ring in the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament that begins Sunday in Tokyo. Takanohana
returning to ringTakanohana pulled out of the New Year tourney with an acute case of bronchitis with three days remaining in the 15-day basho. He then got off to his worst start ever in the Osaka spring meet with a 1-3 record before withdrawing. He later was diagnosed as having a liver ailment.
