A new resident at the Village

Robin K. Graf takes over as resident manager of the Hilton Hawaiian Village as it adds more music entertainment. The daily afternoon music at its Tropics Bar and Beach Cafe started May 3.

"We'll start at 3 and go until six," Graf said. "People come off the beach at 2 or 3 and want to be entertained."

He is responsible for the hotel's food and beverage operations, catering/convention services and purchasing. He also will direct efforts towards guest satisfaction, employee productivity and hotel profitability.

Graf has 12 years in the hospitality industry and joined Hilton Hawaiian Village in November 1993. He also worked five years for the Hyatt Waikoloa and two years in the tour and transportation industry.

He earned a bachelors degree in aviation management at Southern Illinois University. Graf came to Hawaii in 1981 and was stationed at Hickam Air Force base.
