Santos’ 3 HRs carry Saints

Chad Santos hit three home runs and drove in five runs as the St. Louis Crusaders beat the Damien Monarchs, 9-7 in 10 innings, at Iolani in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu yesterday.

Santos broke a 7-all tie in the 10th with a two-run shot. Joe Cabansag also had a home run for the Saints.

Damien sent the game into extra innings by rallying for two runs in the seventh inning, Leadoff batter Shannon Lau was hit by a pitch. After one out, Chad Agustin doubled to right, scoring Lau. With two outs, Ty Cullen singled to center, scoring Agustin.

Kyle Correa pitched six innings of relief, striking out 12 for St. Louis.

Syd Kawahakui pitched a complete game for Kamehameha. Chad Giannetti went all the way for Punahou.

Sing Chow struck out eight, walked five and hit one batter.

Garrett Kuwahara had three hits for Mid-Pacific and Kenji Takanishi hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning.

Maryknoll tops Iolani

Michelle Gabriel and Nabossa Basse each scored 13 points and Genesis Vincent added 12 as Maryknoll beat Iolani, 54-50, in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu girls' basketball game yesterday at Iolani.

Karyn Fitisemanu had a game-high 20 points for Iolani (6-4).

Maryknoll improved to 4-7.
