with Broadway hitsBroadway star Mathew Pederson will perform with the Honolulu Symphony when the City & County of Honolulu present "From Broadway to Hollywood Blvd.," a collection of tunes and theme songs from current and classic Broadway shows and Hollywood movies, 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Waikiki Shell.
Stuart Chafetz, Honolulu Symphony's assistant conductor, presents a program that includes selections from such contemporary composers as Leonard Bernstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stanley Myers and John Williams.
There will be selections from "West Side Story" and "Cats." Pederson will sing "Wings Beneath My Wings," "When I Fall In Love," and "Can you Feel The Love Tonight." The concert concludes with themes and melodies from John Williams' scores from "E.T.," "Superman" and "Star Wars."
Tickets are free and are required for every adult and child entering the Shell. They will be issued in advance, as available, to adults 18 years and older. Ticket quantity is limited to four seats per person and seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
This is the third in the City & County's series of free community concerts.
No chairs with legs or outside alcoholic beverages are permitted. Any outside alcohol beverages will be confiscated and any guest under the age of 21 years found with alcohol will be subject to ejection and/or arrest.
