Hilton Hawaiian Village has promoted Epooni Perkins to a newly created position to bring association conventions and scientific meetings to the resort. Taking a scientific approach
She works with people promoting the Hawaii Convention Center. "It's a whole new way to sell Hawaii," Perkins said.
She has signed the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology for 2007. They expect to see 6,000 attend the convention.
Perkins has more than 12 years of hotel sales experience, and most recently was the Hilton resort's national sales manager.
Perkins, a Kaimuki resident, graduated from Star of the Sea Schools's since-closed high-school program and earned a degree from Kapiolani Community College.
She is a member of the Professional Convention Management Association, the American Society of Association Executives and the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives.
